Everything on Hopster is based on the Hopster curriculum, which we developed with a panel of experts on childhood development.
Our academic advisor panel is top notch
Our games have been created with leading academics in childhood education and cognitive development. We have made large investments in paving the way for a truly unprecedented learning experience to ensure we ‘walk the walk’ in enabling childhood development.
To make sure we got this right, we pulled together the best of the best into an Academic Advisory Board, backed by decades of experience. Our curriculum partners have contributed to 10 virtual worlds, 100 online games, 8 apps, 20 console games, and 85 websites.
Developing the Hopster curriculum
With their help, we conducted a deep review and analysis of early childhood curricula from around the world including the UK, US (Head Start, NAYEC), South Africa, Norway, Australia, and Korea. The result is a pre-school interactive learning curriculum that is the only one of its kind.
Once a Hopster game is developed, we take it a step further and have them reviewed by not one, but two experts in childhood development, including Professor Annette Karmiloff-Smith, the Head of Developmental Neurocognition Lab at Birkbeck College, University of London as well as Professor Lydia Plowman, Chair in Education and Technology, University of Edinburgh.
We understand that no two children learn alike. We have aim to pick shows and develop games that cover all aspects of childhood development, but also (and possibly most) importantly, are fun!
The Hopster Curriculum
All About Me
Children learn to become independent and express themselves in appropriate ways.
My Friends and Family
Children learn how to interact positively and appropriately with others.
My World
Children use the scientific process to explore science concepts in the world around them.
Basic Academics
Children learn basic foundational literacy and mathematics concepts.
Each area is then broken down into individual objectives that we translate into engaging activities. Likewise, each of our beautiful engaging shows has one of these core curriculum areas at its heart, whether it’s Creativity (part of All About Me) in Louie, or Friendship and Adventure in Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom.
If you have any questions about our Curriculum, let us know on Facebook, Twitter, or via email. We’re all ears.
