Hopster, the UK’s favorite preschool learning and entertainment experience, is now available over the internet on Comcast’s Xfinity X1, marking the first time the UK-based online subscription video on demand service is available from a pay-TV provider in the US. Xfinity customers and their families now have access to Hopster’s entire award-winning library of videos including premium preschool shows, educational entertainment, music videos and video books created to help kids discover areas such as creativity, managing emotions and understanding relationships, as well as more traditional learning topics like phonics and numeracy.
Nick Walters, CEO at Hopster, says of the partnership: “We’re delighted to be announcing Comcast’s Xfinity as Hopster’s first major US distribution partner. We’re huge fans of Xfinity X1 and I’m sure X1 customers will love the addition of Hopster’s unique learning content to the platform.”
Xfinity X1 customers can subscribe to and access the service by saying “Hopster” into their X1 voice remote or by finding it within the networks section of Xfinity on Demand. Hopster can be added to X1 customers’ service for $4.99 per month.
With Hopster, parents can keep their youngsters busy with hundreds of episodes of academically vetted children’s shows including classics like Sesame Street segments, Reading Rainbow, Fireman Sam and more. Kids can also find European independent animations such as the German creative show, Animanimals and never-before-seen original shows like the popular Two Minute Tales. Hopster also features programming that celebrates inclusion and diversity such as Irish animation Punky, about a little girl with Down Syndrome, and the Nigerian cultural show, Bino and Fino.
Created with the aim to make screen time a win/win for kids and parents, Hopster prides itself in offering content that’s not just fun but helps kids develop essential early years skills. Accordingly, all programs available on Hopster are selected to tie into a special Discovery Learning Map developed alongside leading academics in childhood education and cognitive development.
